Miscellanous Bits n Pieces

Tea tree oil is the essential oil steam distilled from the Australian plant Melaleuca alternifolia (unique to Australia and native to Northern New South Wales). This oil is usually clear to very pale golden in color and it exudes a fresh, camphor-like scent ( This smell is very strong but it reminds me of mint but stronger)

This oil is “effective against bacteria, fungi, and viruses and stimulates the immune system.”

BUT: DO NOT igest it oraly , and it is better if it is in darker bottle with the dopping thingy ( you know when one drop after another comes out 🙂 this way  the light will not destroy the oil and bacteria will not get in 🙂

1. To treat acne:

It really does help. I use it every time when I have acne problems because of stress or in unhealthy life way – most of the time during exam period in school when I do not have that much time to eat properly and sleep properly and I am stressed out and do not have time to work out and care for my body and skin as I should…

It is enought if you just drop a few drops on cotton pad and dab it on the acne, the oil has some antibacterial properties .. 🙂

2. Treating foot, Eczema etc.

As I said it has anti-bacterial properties and also anti-fungal that is why it an help Athletes to treat their foot… My sister has light eczema and she uses it rebularly with her day and night cream and says that it helps

3. Treating cuts and burns

i did not know this but it makes sense if the oil has all the anti-bacterial properties.. I guess that you just drop a few drops on cotton pad or something and lightly dab it around and over the cuts and burns ..

4. An anti-viral: it may lessen the symptoms of colds and flu- a few drops in the bath.

I think that this works because of the strong smell that because of the hot water gets heavier and stronger.. It also helps with blocked nose – no surprise, again … 🙂 With all the good stuff there is 🙂 you can also add it to the vaporizer to loosen chest congestion

5. Destroy Head lice

Add it to the shampoo or maybe conditioner..
6. Persistant body odour – add it to your bath

7.Treating dandruff and dry scalp

Again you add it to you shampoo or maybe better to your hair mask… I am going to start addaing this to my homemade hair mask.. the tip I got from Miabella (link here: http://miabella-blog.blogspot.cz/2013/01/i-found-it-best-hair-mask-ever.html )… I do not have dry scalp and dandruff but you know prevention , my sister has this problem so I hope that it will help her …

8. It is also used to treat colds or coughts and toothaches..
9. You can also make your own Bio Homemade All-Natural deodorant

I do not know about other, but I would use:

Coconut oil in solid state 1/3 cup

Baking soda 1/4

Corn Starch 1/4

Esential oils – orange or tea tree or another.. if you add tea tree you have all the anti-bacterial stuff and protection , and I would not be afriad of the smell from tea tree oil, because if you add just  five drops ( even around ten)  it will not be a big problem because of the coconut oil witch has a nice smell too ..

You can heat up the coconut oil and mixx in the soda and baking powder and the essential oils and then put it in some tin if it will stay at you home or put it in the tin from the solid deodorant and carry it with you…

But it does not work as antiperspirant, so you will still sweat. The essential oils and baking soda may irritate sour skin if it is sensitive – BEFORE USE TEST IT ON A PATCH OF SKIN TO SEE HOW YOU REACT!!

10. Helps with pink or red eyes

Just heat up water , drop 2-3 drops of Tea Tree into the water and put there the tea bag. Then take the bag out and let it cool – it can still be a bit warm but not hot, should be cool to touch or nicely warm.. Squeeze out the excess water and find a place to lie down and put the bag over you eyes 🙂

All purpose cleaner – mix with water and put it into a spray bottle, put it into dishwasher dispenser and add a green washing soap, or drop it into the washing machine – the clothes will smell fresher and cleaner, or drops a few drops in your pets crater or bed to keep away the fleas, it is also aneffective insect repellent, and when you go camping you can take it with you and put it over insect bites and blisters – again anti-bacterial and other properties…

My personal way to use it is :

3 tsp of neave cream ( the one that comes in the big blue tin, the amount depends on how much you want to make)

3-5 drops of Tea Tree oil ( depending on the amount of the cream – naturally if you hae more put more tea tree into it)

1/2 or 1 tsp max of vaseline cream

Mix it all together and put it into a jar or tin. I keep it in the old jar from Yves Rocher cream or smaller jar from Maybeline mouse blush..

I think that it should last a few months – max 3.. Not sure because I use it so regularly that it last me for maybe to month not more 🙂

So which WAY of using Tea Tree Oil is your FAVOURITE?
